Poisonous with organisms

The poison effect is based to

a destruction of the red blood coloring material and thus a paralysis of the intrazellulaeren respiration

The H2S forms with contact with mucous membranes and fabric liquid in the eye, for which nose, the throat causes and in the lung of alkali sulfides the very strong irritation.

The smaller, not-oxidized part can cause damage in the central and possibly also peripheral nervous system.

Effect:
starting from 20	ppm	during longer lasting effect: noxious for the cornea
around 100	ppm	attraction feeling at the mucous membranes of the eye and the respiratory system, salivation, cough stimulus
> 200	ppm	breath complaints, headache
> 300	ppm	nausea
around 500	ppm	powerlessness, behaviourness, swindle
> 500	ppm	cramps, unconsciousness

Toxic symptoms:
< 100	ppm	after several hours of impact time
> 100	ppm	within one hour
with 500	ppm	lethal in 30 min
at 1000	ppm	in few minutes
with 5000	ppm	deadly in few seconds

Damage limit value with plants

approx. 10 mg/m³ with wood

effect in the plant: Slackening the sheets, color remains, sheets dries up.
